As shown in Fig. 1, the hydrolysis of PET generates terephthalic
acid and ethylene glycol. The reaction time ranges from a few
to 30 minutes, and requires no additive.
This leads to the hope that the process will be more efficient
than the conventional process for PET decomposition.
