Emission Data of Production Facilities

The following is the data on exhaust gas and wastewater emissions as well as major chemical substance emissions or transfers from all works, plants and facilities of Kobe Steel and its major group companies. The tables show regulation values and actual emissions of exhaust gases (NOx, dust and dioxins) and major elements of wastewater emissions, such as chemical oxygen demand (COD) including biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), suspended solids (SS), oil and dioxins.

The emission data includes data from group companies administered by Kobe Steel and operating on the premises of Kobe Steel's facilities.

	Air Quality Data

*	Regulation values are based on the Air Pollution Control Law, prefectural government ordinances, and the Law Concerning Special Measures against Dioxins.
*	Unit: ppm for NOx, mg/Nm3 for dust, and ng-TEQ/ Nm3for dioxins
*	Regulation values are set separately for each facility.
*	The following substances are excluded from the tables because their emissions do not reach the quantitative limit or are lower than the numerical targets: SOx, cadmium, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, fluorine, hydrogen fluoride and silicon fluoride, lead, benzene, trichloroethylene, dioxin.

	Water Quality Data

*	Regulation values are based on the Water Pollution Control Law, prefectural government ordinances, the Law Concerning Special Measures against Dioxins, the Sewage Water Law, and municipal government ordinances concerning sewage water.
*	Unit: mg/l, pg-TEQ/l for dioxins
*	ND (Not detected): Below the quantitative limit
