Measures are being promoted on all fronts to reduce the environmental impact, with several billion yen invested annually in environmental facilities and more than 20 billion yen allocated each year to maintenance and management costs of plant and equipment. During 2007, additional capital investment was directed to installing dust-control nets and similar measures in response to the emissions problem. Energy-saving investment such as simplifying production processes for greater efficiency and recovering waste heat was also made.
