Nonstandard Screw Compressors
Compared with other types of compressors, screw compressors offer high compression ratios and efficiency, as well as superior energy efficiency through responses to fluctuations in load. Kobe Steel manufactured the first screw compressor in Japan in 1956 and has been supplying these compressors to large-scale plants ever since. Kobe Steel holds 50 percent of the world market share.
Kobelion Standard Compressors
Kobe Steel’s standard compressors boast some of the highest levels of specs and energy efficiency and feature a variety of world-first, innovative functions. Kobelion is our foremost standard (compact) compressor, with a leading market share in Japan.
We supply compact, highly efficient microbinary power generation systems, capable of generating electricity from heat sources of around 100°C. These generators are being adopted for effective utilization of unused heat sources, such as factory waste heat and hot spring waters, as well as for generation from wood biomass.
Nuclear Spent Fuel Casks
These casks are used for shipping and storing spent nuclear fuel from nuclear power plants. Kobe Steel was the first Japanese manufacturer, in 1981, to begin manufacturing large-sized forged casks. Kobe Steel boasts the world’s top shipping record for these casks, supplying over 250 casks in Japan and overseas.
The tires used in automobiles, large construction machinery and other vehicles come in a variety of shapes and materials. Mixing the rubber for these tires, which requires molecular precision, is carried out by rubber mixers. Kobe Steel holds a 40 percent world market share for rubber mixers.
