Kobe Steel and Kobelco Construction Machinery to aid Sichuan Province, China

Kobe Steel, Ltd. and the Kobelco Construction Machinery Group extend their sincere
sympathy to the victims of the earthquake in Sichuan Province, China.
Kobe Steel and Kobelco Construction Machinery announce that they will provide equipment and a monetary donation to the quake victims and Chengdu, Sichuan Province, which was severely damaged by the quake.
The two companies will donate a 20-ton hydraulic excavator, a 25-ton hydraulic excavator, and four wheel loaders, a total of six machines valued at 4 million yuan (about 60 million yen). The companies will also make a monetary donation of 1 million yuan (about 15 million yen).

This support activity is being carried out jointly by Kobe Steel and Kobelco.
The two companies decided to provide equipment and a monetary donation worth
the equivalent of 75 million yen in total.
Kobe Steel and Kobelco hope that the disaster-struck areas will recover from the damage soon.
