Selling wristbands to help rebuild after the Great East Japan Earthquake

Kobe Steel's rugby team sold wristbands to raise money for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The wristbands bear the inscription "SMILE AGAIN," reflecting the thoughts and prayers of the players themselves.

Organizing plant tours to give a better understand our operations

We have been organizing tours of our plants and works for shareholders ever since fiscal 2007, in an effort to give them a better understanding of the Kobe Steel Group. We show shareholders around production facilities in all of our main areas of business, including iron and steel, aluminum and copper, steel castings and forgings, and industrial machinery.

We brought eight core staff members from our overseas companies over to Japan to give them a stronger sense of their place within the KOBELCO family. We organized activities such as tours of manufacturing facilities, safety training and exchanges with Japanese employees.
