Six Principal Initiatives

Through environmental management based on three corporate visions, Kobe Steel aims to be a leading environmental corporate group.

We believe we have a duty to future generations to leave behind a healthy world in which all living things can thrive. That is what we had in mind when we established our Basic Environmental Management Policy and six principal initiatives. We implement environmental management in every aspect of our business activities and have set up a dedicated Environmental Management Committee to explore and make recommendations on our six initiatives. We are determined to become an advanced environmental enterprise through environmental management involving all Kobe Steel Group employees.

Under the three pillars of 1) environmentally friendly manufacturing 2) contributing to the environment through products, technologies and services, and 3) cooperation with local communities, the Kobe Steel Group has been practicing environmental management.

The Fiscal 2013-2015 Medium-Term Environmental Management Plan was formulated with the goal of further raising the corporate value of the entire Group. In the years ahead, we will contribute to society in such ways as strengthening our environment-related business and promote environmental management with the aim of becoming a corporate group that prospers with the local community.
