Emergency measures against the novel coronavirus (Notice No. 6)

Kobe Steel, Ltd. announces that it has made changes to the emergency measures against the novel coronavirus as provided below in response to the lifting of the nationwide state of emergency announced by the Japanese government on May 25 (Monday). These emergency measures will continue for the time being.

Measures

  • Employees will continue to work at home on the condition that the necessary coordination and arrangements have been made without having any detrimental effect on business operations. Employees of the head offices, branch offices and sales offices will work at home two or more days a week, while employees of other business locations will work at home at least once a week.
  • Those who are unable to work at home must commute during off-peak hours.
  • Employees who need to go to the company must ensure that their body temperature is at normal levels and carry out actions to prevent infections thoroughly such as wearing masks at all times including commuting hours before and after work, washing their hands, gargling and maintaining social distancing.
  • In principle, employees will continue to be prohibited from taking business trips by airplane and bullet train in Japan, and also business trips from Japan to other countries.
