Atomic Scale Analysis of Microstructure in Metals
We have developed a method to analyze the microstructure of metals at the atomic level to determine how they perform. This could reduce the cost of high-functional materials.
Aluminum Alloy with Heat Resistance of 600°C
KOBELCO has developed an aluminum alloy thin film with a heat resistance of 600oC and electrical resistivity of less than half that of high-melting-point metal. This could be used as wiring material in LCD substrates.

Multi-function anti-bacterial coating technology
KENIFINE®
It has outstanding anti-bacterial(over 10 times stronger), anti-mildew(over 50 times stronger), anti-algal and anti-virus properties, compared to conventional anti-bacterial materials.
Hydrogen Purification and Storage Process（COA-MIB Process)
This process would make it possible to flexibly manufacture and store hydrogen, so that it could be supplied to fuel cells without requiring a large-scale hydrogen network.
Development Process to Accelerate Energy-Savings in Hydraulic Excavators
We have managed to greatly reduce fuel consumption in excavators by substantially reducing hydraulic loss and optimizing control of hydraulic systems and the power source.
