Due to the misconduct concerning inspection data by Kobe Steel and its group companies, JIS certification bodies undertook the extraordinary examination of each Kobe Steel Group location. As a result, JIS certification was cancelled or suspended at some locations.
In response, Kobe Steel and its group companies have been striving to reacquire JIS certification and lift the temporary suspension, and relevant examinations have been conducted by respective JIS certification bodies. With the reacquisition of JIS certification by Shinko Metal Products, Kobe Steel believes it has completed all the necessary actions to restore its JIS certification.
