Kobe Steel’s low-CO₂ aluminum product Kobenable® Aluminum adopted for industrial air conditioners

Kobe Steel, Ltd. announces that its low-CO2 aluminum product Kobenable® Aluminum*1 has been adopted for the heat exchanger used in the commercial air conditioners manufactured by Sinko Industries Ltd. This marks the first application of Kobenable® Aluminum in the air conditioner sector.
Kobenable® Aluminum is a low-CO2 aluminum product that uses green aluminum as a raw material, with CO2 reduction benefits allocated based on the mass balance method*2. This product allows for a reduction in CO2 emissions while maintaining the same quality as conventional aluminum sheet products. Sinko Industries has chosen Kobenable® Aluminum because it aligns with the company’s initiative focused on one of its key materiality issues: "providing air conditioners as infrastructure that contributes to the realization of a sustainable society." The company intends to use Kobenable® Aluminum as pre-coated aluminum fin stock for heat exchangers in industrial air conditioners, including those designed for data centers*3 and compact air conditioners*4.
