Disclosure of Environmental Information

We actively publish environmental information via channels such as our Sustainability Report, so as to keep all of our stakeholders accurately informed about the Kobe Steel Group's environmental management activities. We also make every effort to improve environmental communication at our plants and works through initiatives such as regular meetings with local residents.

Sustainability Report

Ever since publishing our first environmental report in 1999, we have published a report outlining Kobe Steel's environmental projects and initiatives every year. Since 2006, social issues have been included, and this expanded version was renamed the Sustainability Report.

We will continue to provide a wide range of information on the results of the Kobe Steel Group's environmental management activities in the future. Previous years' reports can be viewed via following page of our website.

Communication with the Local Community

In an effort to provide people with a better understanding of our environmental conservation activities, we organized events such as onsite presentations for members of the local community at our Kakogawa Works and Kobe Works. A presentation at the Kakogawa Works on May 29, 2011 was attended by 22 people, who were provided with an overview of progress with onsite measures. Participants were given the chance to see our facilities for themselves.

We have also set up a toll-free telephone service at the Kakogawa Works and Kobe Works to handle environment-related inquiries. We will continue to listen carefully to individual opinions in the future.
