  • Reclaimed land along coast of Chofu and began construction of plant
1939
  • Started operations as an aluminum alloy materials plant
1945
  • Added copper and copper alloys to production lineup
1972
  • Completed 150,000 m2 of land reclamation
1979
  • Consolidated production of wrought copper strip product at the Chofu Plant.

  • Completed wrought copper melting plant on the reclaimed land
1985
  • Expanded cold rolling capacity for copper sheets and strips to enhance electronic materials business

  • Renamed the Chofu Plant to Chofu Works
1995
  • Expanded production of large-diameter copper coils in the copper division

  • Implemented construction to improve quality of thin copper sheets in the copper division

  • Updated a series of facilities at the copper strip plant (including melting furnace, cold rolling mill, annealing furnace, and plating line)

  • Automated hot rolling mill and upgraded electrical components

  • Expanded reflow Sn (tin) plating line
